Life with Harper

Our busy girl (and a tired mommy) has me neglecting this blog again. Here are a few updates about life with Harper.
•She loves to read to herself (or to us) and it is so funny. One of her favorites (Winnie the Pooh) sounds a lot like "Winnie pooh .. Blah blah blah... Winnie pooh"
• She makes her opinions known and isn't afraid to tell you "no talking" or "no look at me" or "don't say that mommy". (Especially if daddy had just returned from work or a trip and she does not want mommy taking away his attention).
• She is a little fish. She loves to be in water!
• She loves her doggie. She likes to throw a ball to him, chase him and sit on him. If he is in her way she says "excuse me hesburgh" and she pronounces his name "Heffbird".
• She is a performer. She loves to dance and sing and has started to bow afterwards and say "thank you".
•She often declares her approval by telling people "I like you" or "I like it"
• She has a group of friends (2 girls and a boy) that are pretty inseparable. They love to play together.
• She is very independent and likes to do things "Harper's self" and take "Harper's turn" (even if no one else gets a turn).
• She recently took two big steps into big kid land.... She made the move to a big girl bed (in her new big girl room) and had her rear facing car seats turned around! (Now if I can just get her to sleep in to the normal time again!)
• She definitely picks up on everything and mimics what she hears. She now asks "whatcha up to" and "whatcha doing" (which sounds like "whatcha do-yin")
• When Daddy comes in the door after work she demands he gets ready to play by declaring "take coat off"... The official sign he is home with her.
• She has her own ways of saying things and we love them! She went through a phase of referring to waking up as "going wake" (like going to sleep).... I am sad she seems to have moved past that!
• She loves her toys that make noise or dance. She has a waddling penguin that sings and she waddles around with it with her hands at her sides. It is adorable.
• She is really getting into pretend play. She puts her princesses to bed, feeds them cupcakes, etc.
She is learning things daily, so I'll try and update again soon!
