Watch Me Grow!

Checking out Winnie the Pooh to see if she is spooked by him like her sister was at 10 months....

Nope. Much like the rest of her personality, she doesn't seem phased.

Finley wasn't so sure about this development

After some thought she decided to get out of there

As usual, life took over and I didn't get this post up on time. The pooh pictures were taken on time though, I promise.

Finley has really blossomed over the last few months. She quickly went from a little baby to a loud, constant motion machine.It is so fun to watch her grow into her personality.

• She is on the move. Shortly after the 9 month mark she abandoned army crawling and took off on all fours. She has since started pulling up on almost anything (although truthfully that was probably around or after the 10 month mark).
• She continues to babble like crazy. Da, Ba, Pa, Ga are all sounds she seems to have mastered. You will notice Ma (or mama) is NOT one of these.
• She continues to be an incredibly happy baby
• She is getting her 4 top teeth all at the same time (although she started with the one on the far left and worked her way across). She has two bottom teeth - but they aren't the center two. She has one middle tooth and one incisor. We are hoping the second middle tooth comes in sometime soon.
• She seems to be developing sounds for different things. Her first was a blowing sound she makes as her attempt at "wuff" when she sees the dog. She also seems to be working on "per" for Harper.
• Her sister is her favorite thing in her world. When she sees her she lights up and the feeling is mutual.
• She is still a mama's girl and grabs on with a death grip if someone tries to take her from me.
• She is still sleeping well, taking an afternoon nap and sleeping from almost 12 hours at night.
• She started music class and loves to bop along to it.

Happy Birthday Harper!

It doesn't seem possible, but Harper is 3 years old! She certainly changed out lives when she entered the world and she continue to brighten our days (mostly ;) with her beautiful smile, her silliness, her innocence, her love for her little sister, her sassiness and her all around love of life.

• She remains a performer. She is constantly singing, twirling, dancing, rhyming, pretending, etc.

• She still "naps" every afternoon, but only sleeps about 50% of the time- the rest of the time she is reading or putting on shows for her stuffed animals

• Her favorite food is macaroni and cheese- but she also loved watermelon and broccoli

• When she wants to know if she can do something she asks "is it fine? Is it fine mommy?!"

• She calls a knife an "ife" (say "a knife" in conversation- you can understand her confusion), and when she hears me cutting something on the cutting board from another room she will ask "I heard some ifes going, what are you cutting?"

• She is an amazing big sister- she is always looking out for and loving on her sister. She somehow manages not react or retaliate when Finley expresses her obsession for Harper's hair! (She has recently seemed to forget the meaning of gentle- but her sister will probably remind her of it soon).

• She thinks our 18 year old neighbor is her boyfriend

• Our outgrowing girl seems to be discovering a bit of a shy side when in new situations 

• She climbs, jumps and slides on things that were for the "big kids" last summer!

• She is growing up before our eyes and is already giving daddy heartache by telling him about how she will be living without us when she get bigger (and then assures him that she will take care of Finley and Hesburgh and not to worry, he will have me).
