The week before Thanksgiving was full of croup and general yuck at the Reeves house, but we thought we had left the illness behind when we left for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, shortly after arriving in Pennsylvania it was clear that Harper didn't feel well. We babied her very high fever for a day or two but eventually visited an Urgent Care (thank goodness Oil City finally got with the times and got one so we didn't have to wait at an ED). Unfortunately, despite an antibiotic prescription, her fever persisted several more days but she finally perked up when we returned to Minnesota!
Proving they listen to all of our "Sharing is Caring" lessons, the girls were kind enough to share the illness and Finley took over the routine just as Harper was healthy enough to return to school.
Not to be outdone by her sister's Urgent Care and doctor visits, Finley spiked a scary high fever one afternoon and experienced a febrile seizure (due to the extreme temperature). After a very scary few minutes, mommy and Finley got a first class ticket to the Children's hospital in an ambulance. Thank goodness for wonderful Edina first responders, cause mommy was a wreck!
Luckily for Finley, after a battery of tests (to figure out what caused the fever), her fever started to come down a bit and they used JUICE to administer another dose. Clearly she was starting to feel better, but that cup of juice seemed to make her day.
A few more days, some much needed rest and a few more gray hairs for mommy and Finley was back to her happy self. If you ask her about her hospital trip now, she will simply tell you "I HAD JUICE" and that her daddy bought her "Christmas George" in the gift shop.
