It doesn't seem possible, but Harper is 3 years old! She certainly changed out lives when she entered the world and she continue to brighten our days (mostly ;) with her beautiful smile, her silliness, her innocence, her love for her little sister, her sassiness and her all around love of life.

Below are some pictures of her several birthday celebrations and a little update about our spunky little girl.

• She remains a performer. She is constantly singing, twirling, dancing, rhyming, pretending, etc.

• She still "naps" every afternoon, but only sleeps about 50% of the time- the rest of the time she is reading or putting on shows for her stuffed animals

• Her favorite food is macaroni and cheese- but she also loved watermelon and broccoli

• When she wants to know if she can do something she asks "is it fine? Is it fine mommy?!"

• She calls a knife an "ife" (say "a knife" in conversation- you can understand her confusion), and when she hears me cutting something on the cutting board from another room she will ask "I heard some ifes going, what are you cutting?"

• She is an amazing big sister- she is always looking out for and loving on her sister. She somehow manages not react or retaliate when Finley expresses her obsession for Harper's hair! (She has recently seemed to forget the meaning of gentle- but her sister will probably remind her of it soon).

• She thinks our 18 year old neighbor is her boyfriend

• Our outgrowing girl seems to be discovering a bit of a shy side when in new situations

• She climbs, jumps and slides on things that were for the "big kids" last summer!

• She is growing up before our eyes and is already giving daddy heartache by telling him about how she will be living without us when she get bigger (and then assures him that she will take care of Finley and Hesburgh and not to worry, he will have me).

These pictures were taken about a week after Finley's 9 month milestone. The start of summer, a trip to Pennsylvania, a visit from the Reeves grandparents and big sister's 3rd birthday kept us pretty busy this month. I promise a longer update with her 10 month pictures but here are the highlights.

Finley's personality continues to develop and she has really become a character
She is such a happy baby - it is one of the main comments we hear about her
At 9 months she had just started army crawling. She definitely used rolling and army crawling to get where she wanted to go (which is usually to her sister's toys).
She still looks a lot like Harper, but is definitely forming her own look
She is a mommy's girl and doesn't like to be with anyone else if I am in the room
She LOVES her purple hippo lovey and her binky
She mastered afternoon naps (several months before her sister did when she was a baby). She usually goes down when Harper does and sleeps anywhere from 1 - 3 hours
She is a great nighttime sleeper (with few exceptions). She goes to bed around 6:30 for 11-12 hours. (We are still tinkering with her bed time to try and get her to sleep later in the morning. Mommy doesn't like being awakened in the 5 o'clock hour, even for this smiling face. Unfortunately it isn't as easy as simply putting her down later - that just makes her get up earlier.)
Despite still being small for her age, she looks like a chunky monkey to us (since she has filled out so much from her previous size).gg
Her stats from her 9 month appointment were: 17lbs 4 oz (20th percentile!!), 26 and 1/4 inches (10 percentile), 49 percentile for head circumference).
